Who would have thought there were so many cake wrecks in the world?
I think I’ve found my new favorite weblog.

More Fennec Fox cuteness.
It looks like the Fennec Fox considered the only species of fox which can properly be kept as a pet. I wonder if they’d get along with a Jack Russel Terrier…

File under common sense.
A family court judge in New Zealand has had enough with parents giving their children bizarre names here, and did something about it.
Just ask Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii. He had her renamed.
Judge Rob Murfitt made the 9-year-old girl a ward of the court so that her name could be changed, he said in a ruling made public Thursday. The girl was involved in a custody battle, he said.
…
In his ruling, Murfitt cited a list of the unfortunate names.
Registration officials blocked some names, including Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter “and tragically, Violence,” he said.

The movie you’re gonna watch is a Visual Cognition Experiment, you are only allowed to watch it once. Seriously, don’t cheat!
In the video you will see a group of basketball players, some in white and some in black passing two balls around. Your goal is to count how many times the ball is passed by those wearing white shirts.
It’s that simple.
Remember, count just the passes of the ball by those wearing white.
Once the movie is over, write down the number of passes you have counted. Do not watch the video again. Follow up with your results on this page and in my entries’ comments.
Step 1: The experiment begins here.
Step 2: Follow up with your results here
Let me know how you did in the comments for this entry.

George Bush surprised world leaders with a joke about his poor record on the environment as he left the G8 summit in Japan.
The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: “Goodbye from the world’s biggest polluter.”
He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.
This news article sounds like something out of The Onion.
