Walking around in the falling snow, warm inside my jacket, listening to music.

I finally broke down and ordered a Nokia 6230 on Amazon with a new service plan through Cingular. This weekend my old phone got to be way too much to deal with.

While I love my old T-Mobile plan ($30 a month for free weekends, 300 anytime minutes and 500 text messages) they have no phones that I want and no longer offer this service plan. The Nokia 6230 is sexy and the Cingular plan isn’t too bad ($40 a month for 5,000 weekends, 600 anytime minutes).

Here is the current situation with my T68i:

I think it’s time for a new, non-Sony Ericsson phone so I ordered a Nokia 6230 which will be -$50 with rebates. I also had my T-Mobile account cancelled a few minutes ago and am now being presented with an “Inactive SIM” message, which is funny since my pay period doesn’t expire for another two weeks and my Cingular phone won’t arrive for at least a week.

I now have a week without a phone and the joys of letting everyone know my new phone number.

I managed to squeeze out two prints over a period of 3-4 hours today. I still don’t have a scanner to scan these prints in so you’ll have to live with photographs of photographs.

This one could use more magenta for contrast. I made one good print which needed burning and when I went to burn another print of it I forgot that I had removed all traces of magenta so now it’s quite dark and lacking contrast, otherwise I like it a lot.

This one is a little out of focus due to the speed at which I had to chase this kid to get a good photograph, otherwise I love it. It also is my first attempt at burning, I think the sky came out well.

Does anyone have recommendations for using photography equipment in snow, rain and other bad weather conditions?

For instance, it’s snowing pretty heavily outside right now and I’d love to go take some pictures with my D70 but I fear that the snow will ruin my lens, speedlight or camera body. Is there any way I can photograph falling snow without damaging my equipment? Are my fears unfounded?
